However, we recommend seeing a dentist for teeth whitening assessment first because not all teeth may whiten evenly. For example, old fillings, dental veneers, and crowns or caps may not whiten to the same shade as your other teeth and that may cause an uneven look.

Professional Teeth Whitening:

A dentist for teeth whitening is the best choice: we will review the teeth, the challenges (of crowns and fillings), and prepare custom molds for the whitening. You will need to come for two, relatively short, visits.

At your first visit we will make the impression for the custom clear plastic tray for your mouth.
At your second appointment, the trays will be checked for proper fit and adjustments will be made if necessary.
You will receive a special whitening solution to take home and use in the custom trays.Use the trays and solution for not longer than the time and frequency indicated on the accompanying instructions (time and frequency is dependent on the solution).
You will experience tooth sensitivity during the time you are whitening your teeth but it will subside shortly afterwards.
If you experience gum sensitivity or a burning sensation during the whitening, take the trays out and rinse your mouth.
Using high fluoride pastes and rinses can help reduce the amount of sensitivity experienced.
